EDZOR TALEZ
Music has always been more than a passion for Edzor Talez—it’s a reflection of identity, culture and personal growth. Hailing from Rochdale, Greater Manchester, Edzor is an emerging Afro Fusion artist whose sound effortlessly blends Rap, R&B, Afrobeats, Reggaeton and Lusophone influences, creating music that is both globally inspired and deeply personal.
Although he has been making music for many years, Edzor spent much of that time developing his artistry behind the scenes. Originally creating Kizomba, a genre rooted in Angolan and Portuguese culture, he gradually expanded his musical palette through years of influence from hip-hop, melodic rap, R&B and Afrobeats. Rather than confining himself to a single genre, he embraced versatility, allowing his music to evolve naturally into the distinctive Afro Fusion sound he is known for today.
Edzor describes himself not simply as an Afro Fusion artist, but as an artist without boundaries. His ability to move between genres while maintaining an authentic voice has become one of his defining strengths. Every record draws from real-life experiences, balancing infectious melodies with honest storytelling about ambition, relationships, resilience and personal growth.
His breakthrough came when his single “Throwback” was selected as BBC Introducing Track of the Week, before receiving further support from BBC 1Xtra. The recognition marked a significant milestone, introducing his music to a wider audience and reinforcing his place among the UK’s exciting new independent artists.
Since then, Edzor has continued to build momentum through live performances and creative collaborations. His growing performance portfolio includes appearances at Manchester Carnival, Blues Kitchen, Off The Square, and an international performance during Fête de la Musique in Paris, France. Beyond music, he was selected for the prestigious Factory International Artist Class, featured as talent in the Manchester United Christmas advert, and hosted the inaugural Heads × Foot Locker Rap Cypher, further showcasing his versatility across music, media and live entertainment.
His latest release, “VIAGEM” (Portuguese for Journey), perfectly captures his artistic direction. Blending reggaeton and Jersey-inspired production with multilingual influences, the record explores themes of growth, sacrifice, perseverance and self-belief. Supported by BBC Introducing, VIAGEM reflects both the highs and lows of pursuing purpose while staying true to oneself.
With a catalogue that continues to grow and a reputation for captivating live performances, Edzor Talez is establishing himself as one of the North West’s most promising emerging artists. Proud of his Angolan heritage and shaped by the diverse sounds of Manchester, he is creating music that transcends genres, connects cultures and resonates with audiences far beyond his hometown.
Edzor Talez isn’t simply building a career—he’s building a legacy, one journey at a time.
